The RCM’s highly anticipated Woodwind and Brass Festival returns for its second year.
This one-day event, under the artistic direction of faculty heads Marie Lloyd and Amos Miller, will highlight a diverse range of ensembles, chamber music, solo performances, guest musicians and an all-day trade fair. Woodwind and brass talent shines throughout with students past and present featured.
Discover the sound-world of winds with their distinct voices, repertoire, tone and textures, alongside captivating rhythm and percussive elements, all coming together for a family friendly lunchtime performance by the RCM Wind Orchestra. Come and Play!
RCM Sparks invites young wind and brass players to participate in some special 'Come and Play' sessions, timetabled around other inspiring performances and events taking place at the festival. Participants will have the opportunity to meet other young musicians and play through some exciting repertoire as 'bands', led by Paul Fisher, Director of Music at Amersham Band. Â
To help with RCM Sparks' planning and in order to group participants according to their level, 'Come and Play' opportunities require the completion of beforehand, opening on 8 September and closing on 13 October.
