RCM Named Top Conservatoire for Performing Arts in the UK for Second Consecutive Year

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has been named the top institution for Performing Arts in the United Kingdom and Europe in the . The RCM is also ranked second across all Performing Arts institutions worldwide, moving up one place in the league table from last year.

The prestigious league table places the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ as the top institution for Performing Arts in the UK, followed by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the Royal Academy of Music, the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford.

The QS World University Rankings' assessment of leading universities worldwide is based on the strength and quality of institutions’ teaching, research activities, graduate employability and international profile. The rankings are compiled from the opinions of academics and employers and from analysis of research output and impact.

RCM Director Professor Colin Lawson said ‘The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is increasingly the natural first choice for talented students from the UK and around the world.  I am delighted that our commitment to the highest standards of excellence has again been recognised in this way.’

This announcement follows the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s placement as the top UK specialist institution for music in the  and success in the latest Research Excellence Framework (2014), in which the RCM was named the London conservatoire with the highest percentage of world-leading research.
